Before I worked at my current job I used to occasionally write for a local magazine that a friend of mine runs. One of the perks of running a magazine is that press visits and passes are handed out in return for writing an honest article of the experience. This weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited for a one night stay at a beautiful hotel with dinner and breakfast and a guided tour in return for writing the article. The destination was Coombe Abbey Hotel in Binley, Coventry and it was absolutely beautiful.

There is so much history attached to this wonderful place. Walking through the grounds and buildings and hearing the tales of past families who occupied them, I could see it all being played out in my head like a film. I could just imagine the horses and carts driving up the long path to the entrance of Coombe Abbey all those years ago. Although I was there for such a short time I really enjoyed having a break and being in such an old, luxurious setting. The food was exquisite and my time there was thoroughly enjoyed, they'll be getting a glowing review from me and I hope to return in the future.
Oh my it's as if you stumbled upon a dream I once had and brought it to life in photographs. How incredibly magical.

Yes they are! The family who lived there many years ago did them of the things they saw through the window, but some of the etchings are of wild animals like lions and giraffes which is a bit of a mystery now as to how the animals came to be there
